High Altitude Mountain Medicine
What is acclimatization?
In high altitude our body responds to the reduction of oxygen in the blood. The body is working to ensure survival. It will try to reduce and to compensate the consequences of the oxgene reduction, in fact the loss of performance of the body at high altitude. Because of this oxygene reduction, the body will try to ensure survival by bringing into play an adaptive mechanism. Speaking about acclimatization we mean the full complement of all adaptive processes in the body which take place at high altitude.
The process of acclimatization is very complex and diverse.
